What started as a long run the week before grew arms and legs 24hrs before we left. Living in Salisbury this route has always been on the to do list, never thinking a FKT attempt would take place

We ran the 1.5 miles to the start and  made our way along the AVP,  after a little navigation issue within the first 3 miles due to a field of BIG cows and overgrown bridge, we made good progress. Ruth had run some of the route to Downton on previous occasions , but after Downton we were on first run of the trails. The first half is very up and down but beautiful trails to Fordingbridge.

The first part from Fordingbridge to the lakes was the worst, long grass and rock hard uneven fields meant for slow progress as we hit the lakes to Ringwood we settled into a groove a few buff and hat dips in the cold rivers within the NF. Great to arrive at Ringwood and push on, the worst part of the route running on the main road for approx 1:5 miles. It was great to get back on the trails and make good progress to Christchurch a small water crossing needed within the last 2 miles and then navigating busy shoppers in Christchurch before gate crashing a wedding at the Priory. A great day out.

Water picked up from various outside taps at churches as well as a water fountain in Ringwood
