FKT: Rob Ulm - Chief Illini Trail (IL) - 2020-10-03

Ran the Chief Illini Trail unsupported from the North Trailhead in Eagle Creek State Park.  Trail was in better shape than both of my previous FKT attempts on the route.  Added trail markings helped and overgrowth was cut down compared to years past.  Made it to the turnaround at Lone Point in 2:02.45.  A few bridges out require some steeper decent & climbs to go around them.  Took 5 minutes more on the return trip with a wrong turn adding a couple of minutes.  Came in at the finish just under 4 hours and 10 minutes with an official time of 4:09.57.  Carried all of my supplies with no areas to refill/refuel.  A fairly rugged trail that runs along Lake Shelbyville and our only route on Fastest Known Times here in Central Illinois.
