On Saturday, June 27th, 2020, I completed an out-and-back traverse of the Cross-Moosalamoo Trail in unsupported style, carrying everything from start to finish and gathering water from natural sources as necessary. Due to the obscured nature of this specific combination of trails, I believe this to be the first one-way and out-and-back running traverse of the Cross-Moosalamoo Trail, although it's possible that Middlebury/Goshen/Ripton locals have done this before and I wasn't able to find the information. Either way, I hope my baseline times will drive more attention to this uniquely beautiful traverse.
On my southbound traverse, I accidentally went down the Minnie Baker trail a short ways before realizing my mistake and turning around. With that mistake included, my one-way time was 3:45:54 and my out-and-back time was 7:58:59.
Now I think I'll grab a beer, sit back, and watch Middlebury runners shave hours off these FKTs. Cheers!
