Ran this on my Birthday. The day after running the Evolution Loop via Lamarck Col, which was the day after attending the OutsideLands Music festival in SF. A good weekend! Felt great the first few miles of the day (also the flat, smooth trail section), but the fatigue quickly sunk in. The morning started with some light rain which was nice to keep things cool, but by the time I really got in to the Canyon the sun was out and it was baking. I filled my water in various streams and the main river a couple times, and even took a refreshing swim before the long climb out. I saw 4-5 groups, one very large trail crew, and two mule trains on the route. I think that going in the reverse direction is actually faster, given how slow-going some of the downhill sections in the Canyon are anyway.
