Dang I love this route and this park! Ever since I finished this run in this direction in 2021 in pickle juice turmoil, I wanted a re-do, even though I went 3 minutes faster the other way the next year. But when Xavier Plouffe bettered my mark by 6 minutes in August, it was time.
Peak leaf peepin season and it felt like a great day to rip when I jogged in Wakefield to the start. Didn’t mess about and got to it. No photos, but trust me, great leaves! 🍂 Kept a good cadence but didn’t overdo it. Almost stepped on a snake by Lac Philippe! Deer abounded. I filled up only my filter bottle at Lac Philippe and tried to keep a rhythm. Realized I would run out of water but rationed and it would be barely enough. Just wanted to be able to close hard, and the masses of orange-shirted leaf peepers made that interesting, but keeping an eye on time, Xavier made me sprint it in. Got it by a minute-ish. C'est ton tour, Xavier! Have to thank Liam Walke for giving me so much practice on these trails the last few years. Don’t think this is safe from him, and others either..
