Couldn't have asked for a more beautiful evening in Rock Creek Park! I set out around 5:45 PM and nearly had the trails to myself. I was a little nervous about the road crossing at Military Road, but completely lucked out with hitting the light perfectly. I think I left some time on the table on the flats on the Valley Trail section, but kept a solid temp and still had some gas for the final climbs on the back end of that section. It's so cool to have a trail FKT in the heart of DC and can't wait to see others go after this great route!
