FKT: Sarah Cary - Sugarloaf Mtn (ME) - 2020-08-24

 I arrived at Sugarloaf Village at about 8 o’clock this morning. There are many different ways to climb the mountain and I started off on the gravel road, which is what most people do. It was runnable for quite a while, and then the grade became so steep and the footing so difficult that I had to walk for a while. Nearing the summit I was able to start running again. It was windy and it started to rain at the summit, so I headed back down quickly. The footing on the way down was extremely difficult and my feet were sliding amongst rocks with almost every step. Overall the run from great! Since it was short I only carried a water bottle. I did not see another soul the whole time.
