Report
We took the ferry out in the morning, hiked the short way to the ranger station. There we filled water, prepped our gear and hit the trail. The day was sunny, but not too hot, which was good because there are places on the island that can be brutally hot, even this early in the season.
The run was clean, and uninterrupted save for a stop for me to dunk my head in Squeaker Cove. Ride was out on Western Ear and it was tempting to add a circumnavigation - maybe that would make a good variant. Our food and water held out pretty well - we refilled at the pump at the campground.
It’s agreed next time we will paddle out.
