The initial plan was for a night run during the August full moon, but just for logistical reasons I had to go with a daytime effort heading South from Lockport to St Norbert.
Loaded up with 2.5L of water, forgot almost all of my calories, and set out. Not included in this track is a little jaunt over to the Lockport spillway and making my way over to the start of the trail, including a scramble along a construction site repairing a culvert! In typical Winnipeg 'construction season with no indication of progress' fashion, immediately following the inexplicably paved section the trail is marked 'Closed' with a pile of dirt across it. Easily and safely skirted and the path rejoined under the next bridge. The day was sunny and clear but a nice breeze was coming over the berms and kept everything temperate. Despite my fueling self-sabotage, this was a great day out. Kudos to Jer for flagging the route a few years back and setting the Supported target!
