Description

The Duff Roblin Parkway Trail is a point-to-point trail connecting St. Norbert (a town just South of Winnipeg) to Lockport (a town North of Winnipeg). This route runs a little over 45km (as marked) exclusively along the Red River Floodway, and is very exposed and flat. The surface is crushed gravel with 3-5km of asphalt. The main significance of this trail is that it provides a safe trail for human-powered transportation between Winnipeg and Bird's Hill Park. This trail was completed in 2013, and is one of the longest, most distinct trails in the province.

I wanted to throw a shoutout to Jeremy for submitting this trail- I didn’t know they’d built this alongside the Floodway canal! it stood out as a fun one to attempt during a summer visit ‘back home.’

My initial plan was a night run during the August full moon but logistics necessitated a daytime jaunt. I loaded up a vest with water, forgot my snacks, and set out southbound this AM.Â
