An Amazing experience running in the most beautiful mountains in South America. The Fitzroy Scamble is an almost 24 mile run through varied Patagonian Terrain. I ran from the route start in El Chalten and proceeded up the Rio de las Vueltas valley before turning into the scenic portion of Los Glaciares National Park. At the turn I followed a glacial valley and slowly ascended into a Sub-Antartica Beech Forest which is very rare and biologically significant. I then proceeded upwards to start a steep ascent to gain the ridge that affords an unobstructed view of the glacier, Mount Fitzroy and Cerro Torro. From there, I descend back down the same route to the base and ran back to El Chalten.
I carried most everything but was given water and food at the 10 mile mark.
