Description

An Iconic run in the most beautiful mountains in South America. The Fitzroy Scamble is an almost 24 mile run through varied Patagonian Terrain. The route starts in El Chalten and initially proceeds up the Rio de las Vueltas valley before turning into the scenic portion of Los Glaciares National Park. At the turn you follow a glacial valley and slowly ascend into a Sub-Antartica Beech Forest which is very rare and biologically significant. The route proceeds upwards and then you start a steep ascent to gain the ridge that affords an unobstructed view of the glacier, Mount Fitzroy and Cerro Torro. From there you descend back down the same route to the base and run back to El Chalten.
