A cold start to the day becoming warmer and very muddy as the frost melted. Start and finish at the village hall in Heath, just near the M1 J29, following the route clockwise. Tricky conditions underfoot with several hilly and muddy / slippery farmers fields, studs probably would have been better than trail shoes. A much faster time to be had here when conditions are drier! Carrying 2x1 litre water bladders was not quite enough but I resisted the urge to buy water, keeping in the spirit of a fully unsupported round.
