FKT: Steve Wagner - Ruby Jack Trail (MO) - 2020-02-22

I left my truck at the Carl Junction Community Center (CJCC) the night before with some replacement water, Tailwind, and snacks. I started the next morning from the Carthage trailhead. My wife Angela ran with me to the CJCC, on to the Kansas state line, and back to the CJCC--about 19 miles. I continued back to Carthage on my own, completing the 32 miles. It was a sunny, but somewhat cold winter day. I had been wanting to run the whole Ruby Jack Trail, out and back, for a long time. I didn't push it and finished easily, but those two miles just east of the Kansas border are difficult running due to the large loose rocks. It was a great run and I would do it again!
