For this solo run, I camped the night before a few miles shy of the Canyon Creeks Trailhead. At 7:00am, I departed with only a few snacks and a 0.75 liter water bottle. I reached the Boulder Lakes Trail turnoff at 1 hour 20 minutes, and the main lake at 8:55am. Since 9am was my goal, I took a quick swim. By 10am, I was at Upper Canyon Creek Lake where I took another plunge. A worthy 4 minute penalty, considering my sweat and brush covered body. Saw 2 dozen or so people along the trail but everyone was friendly or blown away, especially the ones I passed both ways. Only refilled at the creek crossing at Boulder Lakes, from Upper Canyon Creek Lake, and from a tributary on the way down. Adding Boulder Lakes to the Canyon Creek Trail makes this route a swimmer's paradise, one that can still be done fast! Thanks for the route suggestion Nate Smith. No towels required.
