For this point to point traverse, I spent the day before hiking the route from east to west, since I didn't have a shuttle and it was too far to ride my bike back around. On the way, I did some trailwork which took me a few extra hours. Both ends of this route have good camping, although the Canyon Mtn side is dry. I started my run at 8am. I was surprised to see that the sun was rising just as I was taking off. The day was grand. Slightly smoky but cool temps. All creeks were running and tasting great. Stoked to see a developed trail all the way up to the wilderness highpoint, Strawberry Mountain. A fast descent led me down past Strawberry Falls and Lake, then back to the Strawberry Campground and my rig. Rinsing off in the creek afterward was chilly as the place was in the shade when I arrived. Stellar trail conditions the entire way, thanks to a little trailwork! This was one of the best adventures I've had in a while. Great conditions and tons of options to return to explore deeper.
