I opted to start early so as not to see too much of the day's heat, and to enjoy seeing the dawn come in.

I startes the loop on the corner by the Travis Perkins, heading around clockwise, so the first stretch was canal path that is easy going.  A bit further up you cross over one of the lock gates (there are handrails both side), & then head through a little nature reserve.  After that there is a mix of pavement & short footpaths through a quiet residential area, before you start heading up & down some hills!  I could see some areas are likely slippy if it was wet or muddy, but it being dry weather road shoes were fine.

Once the hills are done the route drops down onto the canal path again, and then it's relatively easy going back to the start. There is a section of riverside path at the end which is a mix of wooden walkways & dirt path, which again might be slippy if wet/muddy. But it's a beautiful nature corridor, and on a different day I've even seen a family of otters there.

Overall a great adventure!
