Decided to try for Mt Tumanguya from Lone Pine this time around. Went back and forth on whether to go unsupported or stash things, like poles up at the portal, and finally decided to just go unsupported. Started on the road at totem cafe then the Portal trail both up and down.  Began just before 5am, and made it to the top in a little over 6hr30min. Strava placed it at 6hr36min but probably closer to 6hr40mins or so. Took some time at the top and signed the registered, then made my way down slowly, as the knee was hurting a bit and didn't want to sprain another ankle. Plus it was fun getting to talk with people along the way to keep motivated. Got back to the portal at about 10 1/2 hours, and after getting some water and eating a few potato chips, made it back to the totem cafe. Used tailwind, skratch and spring energy, with some pique tea and chips. Felt pretty warm once out from the shade of the mountains going back into LP, but for the most part had lovely weather. Would definitely enjoy doing it again sometime;*)
