Well the route provides an adventure. I have mixed feelings about the route - there are large parts which aren't runnable due to there being no paths and the route crossing open moorland.
There are a lot of sections where the route takes you through large sections of bog - which I am not sure would be fully dry even in the height of summer.
There are also sections where the route seems to ignore the paths that are there and runs parallel to them over hard passing ground for no good reason.
There are several river crossings which were waist deep - this is probably worse due to the recent heavy rain / time of year - but in the summer.
If needed - there is a water stop at the Postbridge visitors centre (I didn't need this) - but it's there if you do. Check the opening times as they are limited.
Also worth noting that the route passes a live firing range - so definitely check the firing calendar before attempting the route.
I love Dartmoor - so I still enjoyed the route, but there are certainly sections that were particularly slow and draining and unnecessarily hard work
