FKT: Thomas Summer - Kilimanjaro (Tanzania) - 2017-10-30

An unsupported ascent by a non-local is unusual and in violation of Park rules.  Summer's is the only one we know of.  He went from the Umbwe Gate to summit via Western Breach in 7h17min, and down via Mweka Route to Mweka Gate in 4h03min.  He said "You need a guide to enter the National Park. So a guide was supposed to run with me the whole time. But I dropped him after 5min;-) so I was on my own the whole way. Only 1 Liter of fluid. And extra clothes for the summit. I like to keep things clean;-) "
