We set out a bit after 2am for a clockwise circuit of the Evolution (almost) Loop. We reached the trailhead parking lot shortly after 7pm, just over 17 hours after beginning the trip. Note: to make it an actual loop it is necessary to connect South Lake trailhead to North Lake/Paiute Pass via the 13 mile connector via Table Mountain/Tyee Lakes, and George Lake out of Lake Sabrina. Vogel/Avila pioneered this variation the summer of 2020.
