I had one last tortilla and cafe con leche in Ferrol, then hit the trail at the 113.45 km waymarker just before noon. Within 10 km my legs started to cramp, and they more or less stayed that way for the duration. I refilled water from trail-side fountains and tried to stay on top of electrolytes with GU drink tablets, but something was definitely out of whack. I was eating gummy bears, chocolate, and salted nuts, but about 70 km in my jaw was too tired from chewing and my energy started to flag as the calories stopped going in. I now understand why folks love gels so much. My progress started to slow considerably, so I found some grass and napped for a couple of hours. Upon waking, I was amused to find I had been sleeping on the front lawn of the Police station. My gear list can be found here: https://lighterpack.com/r/1wn7kk
