A last minute decision to give this route a try.
I wasn’t expecting the elevation gain around Matlock, which was a nice surprise! Chatsworth house comes up quicker than you expect and the long flat canal section after Matlock is longer than it looks.
Several small shops on the route itself for water stops.
Once you get into Derby city centre your all but done!
Not a bad day out.
