I did a human-powered tour to all of the public land 14ers in Colorado, that being, all 14,000 ft+ + peaks, aside from Culebra, which I opted not to hike because I don't believe peaks should be privately owned, and if they are, shouldn't be required to be accessible for objectives. This project consisted of riding my bike to each trailhead, stashing it in the woods, and climbing up each mountain. Some peaks also required multiple days + backpacking to get in, such as the Blanca group and the peaks in the Chicago basin. The project was great. I felt that riding from mountain to mountain was an ideal way to climb the 14ers, allowing me to feel the landscapes shift on a deeper level. I feel that this heightened my relationship with Colorado as a whole, giving me appreciation for both the mountains, the towns at the base of them, and the areas in between.

Multiple friends joined me for portions of the route. The first 12 days, a friend, Carlee, biked and hiked with me. Following that, I spent 4 days alone, and then met Spencer, a fellow who was going after the same objective. We hiked a few peaks and found that our paces and values aligned well. From there on out, I spent the rest of the days biking + hiking with Spencer. Various other friends came out for single days, most coming out with food or water for me to resupply with. I resupplied with more food and water in towns. There was also a lot of time outside of services, where I would filter water from streams and lakes. I also stayed inside at friends' homes in Telluride, Gunnison, Leadville, and Buena Vista.
