My buddy James inspired me to go for this effort. He attempted it a few days earlier and made it sound like quite the adventure. I suspected the trail up and down would be faster but I was excited for an off trail journey. Turns out this was quite the shwack!
I chose to climb the mint wash drainage until it became unbearable thick then exited to the left ridge. The ridge wasn't much better but it was doable. The travel is incredibly slow for this part but gets better the closer to the summit. I reached the summit in 1:12 and took a 3 minute break to enjoy the view. Afterwards I beelined to the trail. Once on the trail I let loose. I wasn't feeling in my best shape so I believe this route can go sub 2 easily by someone with better fitness.
Once I finished I jumped in the lake, so so nice :) Awesome day!
