Started at Bridal Veil, running solo and unsupported. Fantastic run. I found the route to be a healthy mix of rocky terrain, smooth single track and okay (and mostly downhill) double track. Big trees, great views and loads of flowers. Was slightly overgrown in areas -- didn't need to bushwhack, just couldn't see my feet through the growth.
There was a cougar warning sign at the trailhead -- a cougar had followed some hikers in mid-June. As I rounded a corner on 420C after Devils Rest, a hiker said they he had just spooked a cougar 30 seconds before I got there. He said he had seen two black bears in the area the week before, so keep an eye out for wildlife!
There was a lot more traffic I needed to scoot past after I hit Larch on the second half of the run. Carried a water filter, didn't end up using it though. There are a lot of water options if you need it.
