I was hoping to get started at 5:45am but didn't get out until a little after six. For a summer Saturday with nice weather the path did not have too many people out. This was my third time around the lake which definitely helped anticipate a few turns. I brought a 12oz handheld with electrolyte with splits attached and somehow managed to turn my ankle pretty good after the first mile - which I did twice more by the end. A doberman needed petted at 5 miles and the splits were becoming hard to hit at 7-9 miles, but once the more runnable sections and singletrack came, I gained back more ground. Those early miles are probably the worst of the thick grass and the flagstone. This run was quite a bit quicker than last time and being more aggressive was increasing the chances for a rolled ankle. Regardless, there should be more room for improvement on this FKT.
