This is a challenging but spectacular route! Joaquin and I left just after 04:30am local time in the dark and had a fantastic day. We were lucky to be in the shade until the last climb (and we got totally fried on that climb). I'd recommend starting as early as possible to avoid having too much time in the sun. It is an oven in there!
This route can and should become the R2R2R of South America. It's insanely beautiful, a nice combination of some tough, technical trails and some smoother running, and everything is a similar scale to the Grand Canyon (if a bit higher and steeper).
