We ran the Clinton River Trail out-and-back from Rochester to West Bloomfield, Michigan. The route follows a well-maintained rail trail through several towns, offering a peaceful mix of urban edges and wooded stretches.
The day went great — we started super early and ran the entire route together. My good friend and pastor, Billy Foster, joined me for the whole effort. We encouraged each other and enjoyed every mile. The weather was ideal: overcast skies, light rain at times, and temperatures that stayed in the “not too hot, not too cold” zone. We did encounter one detour that added a little extra distance, but it didn’t throw us off too much.
We didn’t stop to resupply at any point; we carried all of our food, hydration, and gear with us from the start.
Running is a blessing and a gift, and this effort reminded us of that the entire way.
