Thank you to the Siskiyou Upland Trails Association for their work on this trail. This was my first time visiting any of the trails on this loop. I started at the Armstrong Gulch TH, with the gpx file from Jameson Collins on my watch. The start was a bit chilly and foggy. There was also a lot of dew in the grass, which quickly soaked through my shoes and socks. I felt strong for the climb to Anderson Ridge and was able to run most of it. Anderson Ridge Trail was completely socked in, so there were no views, but it was still a very beautiful trail, and I'd certainly like to go back on a clear day sometime in the future. I pushed it on the downhill road section afterwards, and felt decent until mile 25 when my stomach started to turn. I was taking more breaks and slowing down as the sun broke through the fog and the day started to heat up. The last 7 miles were tough, but I managed to finish strong (relative to my overall pace). I set out to do a race effort today, and I'm not sure how much faster I could do this on another go. (Sub 6 would be cool, and I was pretty close) But I'm sure there are others in the local running scene who could completely destroy my time if they wanted to!
