Another FKT for the Grayslake Distance Project! Great running alongside my friend and former high school teammate, Kevin Boyle.
We started at the eastern terminus in Lake Bluff. It is a less obvious start line but we used the GPS data from the previous attempts (Trevor Wilson and Greg Nance) to find the appropriate starting point. Essentially, it is parallel to a small paved roundabout where multiple paths intersect each other. We turned around at the western terminus at Brice Ave right by Carmel Catholic High School. We didn't carry any food or water. Fortunately, traffic wasn't too bad at road crossings, so we didn't have any major stops.
Great morning for running fast, with a slight breeze, lots of sun, and temperatures in the low 30s. Kevin Boyle is in much better shape than I am right now and probably could have gone a lot faster. Big thanks to him for dragging me along today.
