Started 3/14/22 and went 0.25 miles above Hale Ridge Road on Bartram Trail to reach the NC/GA border. Began FKT at 08:25am. Reached Warwoman Dell in 3hrs10m, which is approximately the halfway point. Refilled water in streams using Katadyn BeFree twice before Warwoman Dell and twice after Warwoman Dell, along with Tailwind powder. Absolute stunner day with start temps around 30F and afternoon highs in north Georgia around 60F. Once I hit the Chattanooga River, it became very smoky, which I later found out was from an uncontrolled burn in the area. The smoke stayed with me for roughly the last 5 miles and was super thick.
Ate a mix between Annie's Organic Bunny Fruit Snacks, applesauce packets, and fig bars, along with tailwind in my bottles. Saw a total of four people, two campers on the other side of Rabun Bald and two hikers just before Warwoman Dell. 10/10 would recommend this section of the Bartram Trail, which is super runnable, beautiful river spots, and gorgeous views.
