I did this effort prior to it being added to the FKT site. I did the core route as recommended in Skurka's guidebook - clockwise from the northern terminus, then counterclockwise from the southern terminus. This differs from the route direction on the FKT site. So, I understand if this is not accepted as an FKT, however I thought it would be worth submitting for consideration.
I started at Leavitt Meadows trailhead on September 30th, 2024 and reached Grace Meadows, the northern terminus, at 11:41:54am. I reached Tuolumne Meadows the following day (October 1st) at 8:56:27pm So, it took me 33:14:33 (hours:minutes:seconds).to do the northern portion of the core route.
On day 3 (October 2nd), I ran from Tuolumne to the southern terminus along the Merced River via the Cathedral Lakes trail. I reached the southern terminus at 11:31:25am. I then continued along the Yosemite High Route core route back to Tuolumne. I reached Tuolumne in the early morning hours on October 4th, at 12:50:24am. It took me 37:28:49 to do the southern portion of the core route.
Removing travel time to and from the core route as specified by the FKT, total time for the core route was 70:43:22, or 2 days, 22 hours, 43 minutes, 22 seconds.
I published a trip report here: https://reneeelsdon.wordpress.com/2024/10/27/a-fall-adventure-on-the-yo…
