I had been eyeing this route for a while knowing it was one local FKT I was capable of getting.
I had done all of the RD trail at different times but never in one go before.
My goal for myself had been 4 hours which I got and exceeded which is amazing!

When I started out I wasn't sure I was going to go for the FKT or even for the whole trail but I was moving so nicely I had to go for it. Things just came together really well and the weather was amazing and stayed cool the first 3 hours though it had just rained before I started so I got wet feet. The trail was in great condition - the rock had mostly dried out - except for lots of sections of overgrown grass where you cannot see the ground.

I started with 1.2l of water and filtered a bit in a few spots. There was no filterable water from 106 until just before Black Mt. (a warning for others that there is very limited water if hasn't rained much recently).

Best part is that I enjoyed the run, I held back and didn't go really hard - or at least it didn't hurt - till the last several uphills.

The official route of the RD now has a 3 mile reroute to avoid crossing the PIP. This new route I think would need a new route on the FKT as the difference is large. For now I decided to stick to the old route.
Also I started from the official start of the RD at the triple blaze on the post in the Tuxedo train station, I see everyone else starts at the DEC parking, but it just seems right to do the WHOLE trail.
