This is a beautiful run through the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metroparks. It takes me back to my cross country and track days at Baldwin Wallace College. I would run variations of the this route most days. Therefore, when I saw there was an FKT for this route I had to give it a try. I had a red eye flight into Cleveland from Seattle for my highschool reunion and before I headed back to Tiffin I decided to give this run a try. It is a very easy route and certainly sub 70 minutes would be easy for better runners. Overall I felt okay considering I had no calories for the day and no sleep the previous night. However, the heat and humidity really sapped my energy, according to strava's weather report it was 80 F and 86% humidity. Berea Falls was raging and Rocky River was very high, rendering much of Rocky River Parkway impassible for vehicles. This was my first race like effort since abandoning Fat Dog 120, two weeks prior and my legs were still a little sore. The route is generally flat with a couple of small rollers. The route is mostly shaded by typical northeast Ohio forest, however, there are a few open areas through various parks. If I ever make it back to Berea in the fall or spring, I would like to give this route a try in cooler weather and on fresher legs.
