The "7 auf einen Streich" (Seven at One Blow) is a legendary and traditional loop route through the Siebengebirge, Germany's oldest nature reserve, located just south of Bonn. Originally established as a famous annual non-competitive public hiking event organized by the Skiclub Bad Honnef e.V., this beautiful and highly demanding trail has become a classic challenge for local trail runners and hikers alike.
​The route starts and ends at the large parking lot/promenade near the Rhine river in Bad Honnef (close to the final stop of the tram line 66 / Insel Grafenwerth). It takes you on a scenic but relentless roller-coaster profile across the most iconic peaks, ridges, and cultural landmarks of the Siebengebirge.
​The Route & Checkpoints:
Following the traditional event checkpoints, the standard loop features the following highlights:
​Drachenfels: A steep climb from the Rhine valley up to one of Germany's most famous castle ruins with stunning views over the river.
​Milchhäuschen: A historic woodland restaurant nestled in the valleys.
​Petersberg: Known for the grand hotel that hosted historical political summits.
​Stenzelberg: A unique former quartz-latite quarry with spectacular rock formations.
​Großer Ölberg: The highest peak of the Siebengebirge (460m), offering a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view.
​Margarethenhöhe / Forsthaus Lohrberg: A central mountain pass and trail hub.
​Löwenburg: The final major climb up to the romantic medieval castle ruins before a long, technical, and fast descent down through the wild Annatal valley back to Bad Honnef.
​The terrain consists of a mix of wide forestry tracks, steep paved paths, and technical singletracks with plenty of rocks and roots. Navigating this route efficiently requires strong climbing legs and agile downhill skills. It represents a perfect benchmark for a local FKT in western Germany.
