7 mountain peaks, all over 3,000 m above sea level
From Langtauferer Hof, the route first leads over the Wölfeleskopf to the first three-thousand-metre peak: the Großer Schafkopf (3,000 m). The ascent is manageable, the view of the Ferner opens up the high mountains impressively. The trail first leads downhill and then further up towards Radurschlscharte before the technically demanding and bouldery descent to Hinterer Bergle.
This is followed by the ascent to the Hennesiglspitz (3,042 m) - the second summit of the day. After a quick descent, the route crosses the Schwemmsee before the third summit awaits: the Glockhauser (3,023 m).
Then down on a familiar route, with a loop over the Schönkar and along the Melagerbach stream.
Then it's down into the valley and up to the Nockspitze (3,006 m) before heading downhill to the Weißkugelhütte. Out of the valley we walk to the Melager Alm, where we change sides of the stream and walk steeply up to the Valbenairspitz (3,199 m), a very steep ascent and technically demanding downhill. Then it's on to the Masebner Hütte and back up to the Mitterlochspitz (3,176 m), a steep and strenuous ascent. A traverse takes us to the Tiergarten (3,068 m). The downhill takes us back to the Hotel Langtauferer Hof.
