Die Route des Dolomiten Höhenwegs Nr. 9 verläuft im Gegensatz zu den meisten anderen Dolomiten Höhenwegen als Transversale von Westen nach Osten über die zum Großteil von Süden nach Norden sich erhebenden Gratzüge der Dolomiten. Der Dolomiten Höhenweg Nr. 9 startet in Südtirols Provinzhauptstadt Bozen, durchquert anschließend Südtirol und einen Teil der Provinz Belluno. Normalerweise startet der Fernwanderweg erst in Tiers, aber in dieser Komplettvariante wird am Brunnen in der Mitte des Waltherplatzes in Bozen gestartet und das Ziel befindet sich am Fuße der Parrocchia di Santo Stefano.
Alpine Erfahrung und Schwindelfreiheit sind unabdingbare Vorraussetzungen.

The route of the Dolomites High-Altitude Trail No. 9, unlike most other Dolomites High-Altitude Trails, runs as a transversal from west to east across the ridges of the Dolomites, most of which rise from south to north. The Dolomites High Altitude Trail No. 9 starts in South Tyrol's provincial capital Bolzano, then crosses South Tyrol and part of the province of Belluno. Normally, the long-distance trail only starts in Tires, but in this complete variant, the start is at the fountain in the middle of Walther Square in Bolzano and the finish is at the foot of the Parrocchia di Santo Stefano.
Alpine experience and a head for heights are essential prerequisites.
