Description

This route starts in Antwerp and ends in Ghent. These are the 2 largest cities in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium. We start at the Grote Markt in Antwerp in front of the city hall. From there we run to the Pedestrian Tunnel that takes us from the center of the city to the Left Bank. The tunnel runs under the famous Schelde river. From the left bank we will follow the cycle path F4 that connects the two cities. In between we pass the Grote Markt in Sint-Niklaas. This is the largest market square in Belgium. From there we follow the F4 route again. After we pass Lokeren we head straight to Ghent to end on the Sint-Baatsplein in front of the 10th century Saint Bavo's Cathedral. The entire route is on asphalt. There are plenty of places where you can stock up if necessary.
