Description

The route goes around the largest training area of the Nato in Europe. In the middle of Upper Palatinate in Bavaria you run/ bike through small villages and see beautiful views. Also you see some military facilities, for example airfields and shooting ranges.

This course is an easy one. The most part is on normal streets and bike pathes, but with some beautiful trails.

The starting point is in Hütten. After 15 km on streets the first part is along the river Vils and you can see the main gate of rose baracks in Vilseck. After Kümreuth the trails starts for 10km through the wood. At half you pass the city Auerbach with an old beautiful inner city. After that you reach the highest point and have a nice view to the traininga area. Pass Kirchenthumbach and then you follow the bike pathes to Eschenbach with the Rußweiher. After Eschenbach you see the the Netzaberg-Chapel. At the last part you run/bike through Grafenwöhr on streets, past the main gate of tower barracks and see the airfield.

The route is always on public roads and the military training area is not entered!
