Route: Ballarat to Skipton Rail Trail

The trail is 55km long with a 2% gradient. The trail is unsealed, predominantly with a granitic sand surface. From Ballarat to Scarsdale, the trail and its surroundings are mainly open and rural, with some shaded sections between Scarsdale and Pittong. From Pittong to Skipton the trail takes in the open spaces of the surrounding regional farmland. The trail crosses over main roads and country roads including the Glenelg Highway several times.
