Groß-Siegharts, a typical Lower Austrian town, lies at an altitude of 534 meters. Nestled in the gently rolling hills of the Waldviertel region, the town has its own unique history. It was first documented around 1150. A market town since 1727, Groß-Siegharts has held city rights since 1928 and has a population of nearly 3,000.
