Description

This route can be run in both directions with easy access to both entry points from Hamburg main station. The route follows a beautiful topological feature called "The High Moraine", which was formed during the last ice-age. About 50% of the route also follows the Elbe riverbank and most of the route is in forest on easy trails. Parts of the route traverse areas of special natural interest (and protection).

The route also historically interesting, passing through Lauenburg and skirting the old Alfred Nobel dynamite factory-site. Furthermore, the route passes a former East-West Germany checkpoint.
