Description

The Brazeau Loop is a 81km well maintained trail located in Banff National Park with a total elevation gain / loss of 1878m. The highest point on the trail is 2470m. Starting at Nigel Trailhead travelling towards Four Point Campground. The trail follows the Nigel river ascents through Nigel pass and crosses the Upper Brazeau River to the Four Point Campground. Continue on towards Jonas Cutoff. This section takes you through a forest and opens up into Jonas pass. The trail continues to Jonas shoulder which is the highest point on the trail and descends to Jonas Cutoff camp. From Jonas Cutoff head towards Four Point campground and back to the Nigel Trailhead finishing the 81km loop. The trail is a combination of alpine and sub-alpine terrain offering marvellous views and is usually travelled within 3-5 days.
