Description

This almost straight up vertical climb tears your strength and endurance for sure .  The route is extremely rooty and rocky.  In the winter it is also very wet in places with possible ice and snow .  A lot of places it is too steep to run and power hiking takes precedence; there are a few flatter sections that are runnable.  One of my favorite shorter vertical climbs for sure .

"The Cable Line Trail on Tiger Mountain is not for the weak of heart, nor the weak of knees. A steep, slippery incline awaits you here, climbing over 2,000 feet in just 1.5 miles to the summit of West Tiger 3.  True to its name, an old cable line is occasionally visible in ground as hikers trudge to the top.

From Seattle: Take exit 20 and then turn right onto the frontage road paralleling the interstate. In just under 0.5 mile the road ends at a gate. The gate opens daily, though it is closed and locked at 7:00 PM. The Cable Line Trailhead is to your left, a couple hundred feet before reaching the gate."

There's a Strava segment for the ascent.  You should beat the Strava times if you wish to claim an FKT.
