The Caminho da Fé (Path of Faith), inspired by the Camino de Santiago de Compostela, was created to support pilgrims traveling to the Basilica of Our Lady of Aparecida in São Paulo, Brazil. The Borborema–Aparecida branch is one of the official start routes, beginning in Borborema (SP) and extending to the Basilica in Aparecida. It crosses the Serra da Mantiqueira by way of rural towns, mountain roads, and forest trails. The full route covers approximately 510 miles (820 km) with 64,325 feet (19,600 m) of ascent, combining country roads, paved sections, and established support points along the way. It offers both a physical and spiritual challenge, framed by the natural beauty of the Mantiqueira Mountains and the hospitality of local communities.
