Description

Cerro Cortez is a popular short hike in Ushuaia. Start where there is a sign/ bridge marking the entrance to the park. Then, it is a fast run on a flat dirt road before turning left and beginning the steep climb. The trail is very clear the whole way, but there are lots of roots to hop over. Once you hit treeline, there is also a cairned trail but there are lots of social paths. Take the path of most efficiently to the summit, quickly enjoy the ocean views, turn around and do it all over again :) Be careful not to trip on any roots on the way down- it’s like an obstacle course. Then, you will be treated to a fast road mile before ending.

(Note: There are segments on Strava, so to claim the FKT you must beat those times. Additionally the gpx file provided begins at the hotel. Unless you want additional miles begin at the park entrance.)
