North Shore classic with a couple of moderate scrambling sections from Crown Pass. Start at the Grouse Grind/BCMC gate and begin up the routinely busy Grouse Grind trail. After 3km and +800m of Grind you gain the chalet. Go right of the stairs that lead to the Grouse Grind timer to bypass the chalet. A paved path takes you to the base of the peak chair. Then follow a gravel road that skirts to the left contouring across the west side of Grouse Mountain to the Dam Mountain/Grouse col.
From this tree lined col a trail heads up in direction of Dam Mountain. Take the east fork to skirt around Dam Mountain and move onto the east flank of Little Goat Mountain to the Goat-Little Goat col. There are many trail junctions along this route but excellent signage makes navigation fairly simple. Just follow the signs for Crown Mountain and Crown Pass.
From Crown Pass head up a steep north east trail ignoring the trail descending to the right into Hanes Valley. Follow painted marks on the rocks of the slab sections.
From the summit there are great views of Vancouver and "The Camel" which features several climbing routes just north of Crown.
