Description

This route starts and finishes at Dare Valley country park. It is a long 10km Climb to the first summit, climbing up the Darren then passing the beautiful Maerdy dam. The route then takes you a long a ridge way passing Llyn Fawr lake, with an incredible view over looking and beyond. On a clear day you can see the peaks of the beacons most famously Penyfan. After the ridge run you then drop over the other side and it is a 10km down hill descent, this part can be fast or you can take it easy and enjoy a run through the Glyneath forestry's. Before turning at the bottom and making your way back up the ascent. It is a tough consistent route but the trails are remarkably great underfoot. Ideal for anyone looking for a fast trail marathon.
