Description

The Derby Nomad Way is a 50 mile route circumnavigating the City of Derby. Created in 2010 to celebrate 75 years of Derby Nomad Ramblers. The route takes in Dale Abbey (start and finish), Stanton-by-Dale, Risley, Breaston, Draycott, Shardlow, Aston-on-Trent, Weston-on-Trent, Swarkestone, Barrow-on-Trent, Findern, Etwall, Lees, Kirk Langley, Quarndon, Duffield, Little Eaton, Morley, Stanley, Dale Abbey. Along the way are numerous industrial archaeological sites and a richness of medieval features plus important places of religious worship, all of enormous interest and great historical value. Parts of the trail follow the course of the former Derby Canal as well as stretches of the Trent & Mersey Canal and the Rivers Derwent and Trent.
Do take care around the A38 area as this can be busy with traffic.
